Introducing Enterprise 50

The Enterprise 50 Award (E50) is a prestigious award program which aims to recognise the achievements of top 50 MSMEs in Malaysia. Introduced in 1997, this award honours the success of the industry's crème-de-la-crème whose vision, leadership, tenacity and exceptional achievements serve as an inspiration to others.

Winners will be selected from the nominations received, whereby evaluation will be conducted towards the company’s financial and non-financial aspects by a team of Independent Panel of Judges.

The deadline for submission of application: 31 July 2024

  • Fulfil the MSME definition
  • Obtained a rating of 4 and 5 stars under SME Corp. Malaysia’s SME Competitiveness Rating for Enhancement (SCORE) Programme
  • Not listed on Bursa Malaysia
  • Companies must submit Audited Financial Statement (latest 3 years)
  • Subsidiaries are not eligible if the parent company participates
  • Participation fee: RM2,000.00
  • Submission of applications for the Enterprise 50 (E50) Award must be made online via https://mybpi.smecorp.gov.my
  • It is advisable for the Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director of the company to fill up the nomination form to ensure accuracy of the information provided
  • All information provided along with uploaded documents must be true and accurate
  • Decisions made by the organiser is final whereby company information received are strictly confidential
  • Further information required by the company must be submitted to the organiser as and when needed
  • Companies honoured with the E50 Award must comply with all publicity activities and guidelines (including regulations regarding the usage of the E50 logo)
  • The organizer has the authority to revoke the award if any company violates the conditions set for nomination
  • Processing fees paid and documents submitted will NOT be returned should the company voluntarily withdraws from the E50 Award after nominations has been submitted.

Upon receiving the nominations along with complete documents, each participating companies will be assessed based on the following categories (among others):

  • Company’s Financial Position
  • Digitalisation and E-Commerce Adoption
  • ESG Adoption
  • Market Presence
  • Revenue Growth
  • Active Posturing

(Note: To maintain confidentiality, the company’s financial information will NOT be openly shared. Financial information will only be used for rating purposes and will be published as percentages or ratios. However, profits and other figures may be used internally for research purposes).

All companies will be scored based on the above categories. Site visits to shortlisted companies will be conducted for verification purposes. The rankings of all participating companies will be determined before submission to the Independent Panel of Judges.

The Independent Panel of Judges will convene to moderate the rankings of all participating companies. The rankings and scores of all companies are definite and will be shortlisted as the E50 Award recipients.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Companies are required to fill in all information and upload the necessary documents via  https://mybpi.smecorp.gov.my for further assessment.
  • All nominations are subject to the eligibility criteria as listed above.
  • Companies shortlisted as E50 Award recipients will be officially notified during the Enterprise 50 (E50) Awards Ceremony.

The evaluation will be based on the financial position and overall operations of the company across the following categories:

  • Company’s Financial Position
  • Digitalisation and E-Commerce Adoption
  • ESG Adoption
  • Market Presence
  • Revenue Growth
  • Active Posturing

Based on the current SCORE database, 50 is considered proportionate to the number of  companies rated 4 and 5 stars.

The evaluation will be implemented by several Independent Panel of Judges, whereby a Steering Committee Meeting will convene to evaluate the list of nominations received.

This award is also recognised internationally to acknowledge business excellence in the domestic market. Singapore and Indonesia also have similar awards.
