Introducing Enterprise 50
The Enterprise 50 Award (E50) is a prestigious award program to recognize the achievements of the top 50 MSMEs in Malaysia. Introduced in 1997, this award aims to encourage the achievements of more outstanding companies among local companies while also encouraging PMKS to play a greater role in the national economy.

Winners will be selected from the nominations received where the evaluation of the company's financial position and operations will be carried out comprehensively.

The application deadline for E50 applications: 30 June 2024
- Meeting the definition of SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises)
- Obtaining a rating of 4 and 5 stars under SCORE
- Not listed on Bursa Malaysia
- Having an audited annual financial statement
- Subsidiaries are not eligible if the parent company participates
- Participation fee: RM2,000.00
- Nominations for the Enterprise 50 (E50) Award must be made online through the website https://mybpi.smecorp.gov.my.
- It is suggested that the Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director of the company filling out the nomination form ensures the accuracy of the company information
- The information provided along with all attached documents during the nomination process is true and accurate;
- The organizer’s decision is final and information about non-listed companies will be kept confidential;
- Companies need to ensure that any explanations and additional relevant information are submitted to the organizer;
- Winning companies must comply with all publicity activities and guidelines (including regulations regarding the use of the E50 logo);
- The organizer reserves the right to withdraw the award if a company violates any nomination conditions set;
- Voluntary withdrawal from the E50 Award after submitting the nomination is a breach of the nomination conditions, and it results in the forfeiture of the processing fee and all submitted documents will not be returned.
After receiving the nominations along with complete documents, each participating company will be assessed based on two (2) primary areas:
1. Quantitative Indicators
- Growth Strategy;
- Vision;
- Key Innovations;
- Human Capital;
- Business Processes;
- Market Presence; and
- Level of Information Technology Usage
2. Qualitative Indicators
- Competitiveness Level;
- Growth Strategy;
- Vision;
- Key Innovations;
- Human Capital;
- Business Processes;
- Market Presence; and
- Level of Information Technology Usage
(Note: To maintain confidentiality, individual company financial information will NOT be openly shared. Financial information will only be used for rating purposes and will be published as percentages or ratios. However, profits and other figures may be used internally for research purposes).
All companies will be scored based on their performance in these two (2) areas. Site visits to shortlisted companies will be conducted for verification purposes. The performance rankings of all participating companies will be determined before being submitted to the Independent Jury Panel.
The Independent Jury Panel will convene to establish and moderate the positions of all participating companies. The rankings and scores of all participating companies are absolute and will be shortlisted to 50 winners.

Based on the current population of companies rated with 4 and 5 stars in the SCORE database, the number 50 is proportionate to the company population.
The assessment will be carried out by several independent panels of judges, who are recognized, where a Steering Committee will be formed to evaluate and consider the list of received nominations.
The E50 was specifically established as a domestic award. This award is also recognized internationally to acknowledge business excellence in the domestic market. Singapore and Indonesia also have similar awards.
